BMX Freestyle and Bike Trial Show at Wired Next Fest 2025: Energy, Innovation and Spectacular Riding in the Heart of Rovereto

Rovereto, a key hub for innovation in the Trentino region, is not only famous for its museums, history and art.

During Wired Next Fest 2025, the city became a stage where technology and creativity blended with spectacular live performances.

From October 3 to 5, 2025, Rovereto came alive with more than 140 events, 170 speakers and talks dedicated to human, social, technological and environmental energies. Alongside workshops, exhibitions and concerts, the audience also experienced an adrenaline packed BMX freestyle and bike trial show by SICK!Show, featuring Francesco Mongillo and Elia Benetton, accompanied by our speaker.

When innovation becomes spectacle

Wired Next Fest Trentino is not the typical tech conference. It is a free festival dedicated to innovation, digital culture, sustainability and ideas that shape the future.

Every corner of Rovereto, from Piazza Malfatti to Teatro Zandonai, hosts talks, workshops and performances ranging from artificial intelligence and robotics to green technologies and pop culture.

Within this high intensity intellectual environment, the BMX freestyle and bike trial show brought physical energy into a cultural context, creating a bridge between sport, movement, technology and the urban audience.

The first jump: when the crowd turns around

It was an October afternoon. Streets and squares in the historic center were full of curious visitors and enthusiasts.

Talks about artificial intelligence and future technologies alternated with coding workshops and squares animated by DJ sets and live music.

Then, like a call, the wheels arrived.

Our speaker took the microphone in the courtyard set up specifically for the bike show and introduced Francesco Mongillo.

Music started. The audience gathered.

The first trick exploded with energy: smooth jumps and total BMX control. It was the kind of performance you do not expect at a technology festival, yet it captured everyone’s attention instantly.

Then Elia Benetton entered the arena, combining bike trial precision with freestyle energy. Perfect balance, millimeter accurate moves and dynamic tricks followed one another as the audience applauded, filmed and shared the moment online.

It was the meeting of two worlds: the adrenaline of sport and the excitement of innovation. That fusion is what made Wired Next Fest truly unique.

BMX freestyle and bike trial: two disciplines, one show

Over the three days, the audience grew performance after performance.

Each show became a mix of balance, power, rhythm and interaction.

Francesco Mongillo’s BMX freestyle runs delivered gravity defying tricks, rotations and continuous jumps, while Elia Benetton impressed spectators with extreme bike trial technique: vertical hops, balance on narrow obstacles and absolute bike control.

Our speaker connected every moment, building tension, explaining the technical difficulty of the tricks and helping the audience understand what they were witnessing.

Everyone became part of the show.

A show that speaks about the future

In a festival that encourages people to reflect on energy in all its forms, from green technologies to collective creativity, the BMX freestyle and bike trial show perfectly embodied this vision.

The physical energy of the tricks, the passion of the riders and the connection with an urban audience moving between AI talks and digital installations merged into a vivid and engaging experience.

It was not just a sports performance.

It was an invitation to see the bicycle as a symbol of movement, human energy and collective innovation.

Behind the scenes: safety and organization

Behind the show there was careful preparation.

Structure installation, a secured performance area, coordination with the festival staff and precise timing to integrate smoothly into the dense program of Wired Next Fest.

This allowed visitors to enjoy a professional and engaging performance without interfering with other activities, instead enhancing the overall festival experience.
